Hurricane Irma, a Category 5 storm being called one of the most powerful Atlantic Ocean hurricanes ever recorded, is headed toward Florida. For the safety of our customers, employees and partners, and due to the predicted effects of the storm on transport via air and ground, United Cargo is temporarily closing our freight facilities and restricting all acceptance and movement of freight and mail in four Florida cities. Details are below:
• Facility closings and restrictions are effective from 1 a.m. EDT Thursday, September 7 until further notice
• Facility closings and restrictions apply in Miami International Airport (MIA), Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) and Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers (RSW)
• United Cargo Freight Facilities in MIA, FLL, PBI and RSW are all temporarily closing, and shipments will not be accepted or terminated until further notice
